Our September Comedy Open Mic Contest was a blast! We featured a whole new slate of performers and our new “FWD: JOKE” contest was a success with veteran comic Charlie Moreno taking the $50 gift certificate! The Winner of the open mic was Luisa Morano! A very funny up and coming comedienne, expect to see more of her in the near future. Winners of the Comedy Open Mic contest receive $100 in cash! And winner is decided based on audience vote, so come by the second Wednesday of the month for a chance to win only at Maverick’s Bar and Grill!

We recently had a show with one of El Paso’s veteran comedians Patrick Candelaria! Patrick Candelaria’s 17-year successful ride through his comedy career has been filled with laughter all the way.  He has traveled over half a million miles around the world creating an adventure that includes a dozen overseas comedy tours for the United States military, over a hundred college, corporate and benefit performances, and countless comedy club appearances. George Lopez said Patrick is “Pound for pound, one of the funniest comics out there,”  and Tommy Chong called Patrick, “A very funny Mexican”.

We had the first round this past Sunday and it rocked! we had 5 contestants and all of them rocked the house with their imaginary guitars and had the audience in awe. We had our monthly open mic at Maverick's Bar and Grill and it was one of the best shows ever! The contest was close and all the contestants were great! in a very tight competition the winners of the night were Glenn Bolton and Beto Sanchez! We also had our first ever Fowarded Joke Contest! with the winner taking a $50 gift certificate good at Maverick's Bar and Grill!
